Planet Zoo 2 DLC: what to buy and what to skip

Three DLCs, three very different value propositions — the honest ranking.

Updated 2026-10-21By ZooBlueprint

Three DLCs exist right now. One is worth it, one is cosmetic, one is just music.

Every Planet Zoo 2 DLC available now

DLCPriceWhat you getVerdict
Deluxe Upgrade Pack$17.996 additional species + exclusive animal signsYes, if you want more species
Bonus Content Pack$2.99Cosmetic decorationsOnly for detail builders
You, Me & Sanctuary (soundtrack)$9.99Music by J.J. Ipsen and othersSkip unless you collect OSTs

The game launched on October 13, 2026, so this is the whole list — there are no expansion packs yet. Expect larger animal packs over the next year, the way the first Planet Zoo built out its roster.

Deluxe Edition vs base + upgrade

The Deluxe Edition bundles the base game with the Deluxe Upgrade Pack. Base $49.99 + upgrade $17.99 = $67.98. If the Deluxe Edition is at or below that, buy it; if above, buy the two separately.

What the six Deluxe species are

Frontier describes them as "six animal species from across the globe" without listing them on the store page. They are Deluxe-exclusive — you cannot unlock them by playing. For a completionist Zoopedia run, the pack is the difference between 130+ and every species.

The soundtrack is not in-game content. The $9.99 release is music files only. The $2.99 Bonus Content Pack is decorative signs and props — useful for detailed builds, worthless for gameplay.

Recommendation

  1. Buy the base game first and play the Career opening.
  2. If the loop holds you, add the Deluxe Upgrade Pack.
  3. Skip the soundtrack. Consider the Bonus Content Pack only if you spend hours on decoration.
